Slack and Slacker
I have still got my nose buried in Dave Webbers "Path of the Fury". My work hours have been unreal with me getting 46 hours in 4 days last week. I took Friday off to go home and babysit my sick wife who has a horrible cough and is not getting any sleep. Accordingly her patience with me sitting at the computer was at an all time low, so nothing got done.In order to try and find a method where I can get the time to post each day I am going to try and go with a new format and just have [link] pointing to a link I am commenting about. That will save me some time formatting the page. Easy at it is, every minute counts and I don't want the site to appear dead either. People actually read it, so I continue to be amazed at that. And they aren't even family or friends.
I've been thinking lately about labels. How to label myself and others when I use labels. I have always thought of myself as a liberal, a libertarian. Yet sometimes I know I come off like an arch conservative. One thing I did realize, that the Democrats and their supporters are not so much Liberals, but Socialists. They feel the government should pay for a lot of basic services. On the other hand, the Republicans are conservative and love big business. Business has really gone to town with them. That said, it makes no sense why in 64, businesses paid about 70-80% of the taxes, now it has been replaced by the middle classes. This occured even before Regan. And so many don't pay any income taxes at all in a given year. 2000 was a banner year for Microsoft and Cisco, no taxes at all. This is absurd as the middle class is being squeezed so much that there is little between them and the poor now. The gap between the middle class and rich is getting larger and larger now. One of these days, maybe before they put me in a box there will be a revolt of sorts that puts things back more on an even keel. Who knows. I may not see it.
Enough thoughts for now. The microwave is dinging and it is time for me to grab dinner and get ready to talk with my better half in a little bit.
Later!
